A Fresh Start in The Emerald City

So, 6 months ago, I loaded a moving truck and put Cartersville, GA in my mirror. I wanted to leave that place with such a passion, I had such disdain for it.

I will be honest, I am nowhere near where I thought I would be 6 months ago. But, I don’t necessarily find that to be a wholly bad thing. I had visions of an almost magical place, where i could abandon all issues and…I don’t know…work in a chocolate factory with big tittied hookers. Obviously, I never thought it through, completely.

When I got here, I found home, though. This city is old, yet ever-evolving. The Emerald City has more culture in 10 sqaure miles, than Georgia has in it’s entire border. The scenery is amazing. The mountains here are nothing like the Blue Ridge range on the east side. There is artwork everywhere. The city sponsors art, and embraces the different cultures that make up the city. Even the fucking bus stops have art at them. I adore that.

Oh, and I now live in a place where I am the minority. I also adore that.
